Yangshuo Tours, Guilin & Rice Terraces Tours

The long and diverse list of activities in Yangshuo might seem overwhelming and to ease planning your Yangshuo tours itinerary, we have composed a selection of our own best or most common guided tours in and around Yangshuo, Guilin and the Longji rice terraces.  Our very own Yangshuo tours focus on delivering a cultural experience into the local customs and daily life while taking full advantage of the amazing scenery the Yangshuo countryside is famous for. The tour itineraries below are suggestions in how to combine several activities in Yangshuo into one great day but they can be customised to suit your needs. So do not hesitate to let us know if you would like us to organise a combination of any of the private tours listed here or wish to include other activities. For a most interesting experience have an English speaking guide to go along with you at least on one day of your time here. In addition to showing you the way and avoid getting lost local guides save you energy to complete the tours in a relaxing and enjoyable way. They can also give a better comprehension of the area and answer all the questions that may arise during the tour. While getting lost during countryside tours can actually deliver a very fun and rewarding experience, you do want to get back before dark! So it might be a good idea to take a local guide along with you during a cycling or hiking tour. In times that the demand for good English speaking guides is higher than the supply, during the high season from April to October or on school and national holidays, we advise to book your guide from beforehand. Some Yangshuo tours are already available for instant booking through our booking widget below and we will be adding more of these tours over the coming days and weeks.

Yangshuo Highlights Video

This beautiful video of Yangshuo features some of the most scenic viewpoints at sunrise & sunset, cultural highlights, and fragments of the Yangshuo tours we can organise for you. This inspirational video is a production of Yangshuo Insider directed by Bernardo Salce. http://yangshuo-insider.wistia.com/medias/a3rphd244z?embedType=seo&videoWidth=600 Please note that since the creation of the new Yulong river park in September 2017, there are no direct transfers between the majority of accommodations located near the Yulong river and sights outside of the park or the center of Yangshuo possible. Everyone entering or leaving the park with a motorised vehicle will need to get off at one of the entry gates and buy a ticket for the public shuttle buses to get in or out. Please read this post to make a well informed decision about the consequences before choosing your accommodation in Yangshuo. Due to the flexibility we offer you to book any transfer instantly through our booking engine we can’t possibly create a different price between any of the hundred accommodations within the park and each sight/activity outside the park, nor the other way around, so we can’t possibly include these shuttle transfers automatically into all itineraries. Please inquire from beforehand or, if you have just booked a tour that crosses the gates per car, we will let you know if it affects your itinerary and discuss the most convenient way to do your tour. As always, if you feel any of the proposed alternatives isn’t entirely satisfying for you, you are always free to receive a full refund within 24 hours after our confirmation.

Yangshuo Tour F: Guided Cycling/Raft Tour with visit to Fuli

Update July 2018: Unfortunately we cannot offer this tour anymore due to new government restriction which disallows rafts to leave or dock from either Fuli or Liugong. Rafts south of Yangshuo can now only start and end in Yangshuo which kind of ruins any raft and bicycle combination on the Li river.

Guided countryside tour with cycling and Rafting, visit to a local market and painting workshops in Fuli. Yangshuo Li river TourThis is great Yangshuo tour during which you will enjoy the Li-river scenery by raft downstream on the way to Fuli, famous for its fan and landscape paintings. There you can get the best price for a great local souvenir and which also offers the most interesting market of the area on the days that end with 1,4 or 7. After exploring this ancient town you will continue per raft to the sleepy old riverside village of Liugong. In this village you can enjoy a traditional local lunch in a truly fabulous setting on a wooden deck overlooking the Li-river with very few tourists passing by, the ideal place for a refreshing swim as well! Then it is time to get the bikes off the raft and cycle along the shores of the river on flat countryside roads amid farmlands and rice paddies with the green mountains as backdrop. We pass by the stage of the famous Light Show in Yangshuo back to the center or one of our recommended accommodation in the countryside of Yangshuo. (Note that the prices for Li-river rafting trips have increased to 150Ypp under government regulation since 2014)

Tour Duration: 09:00-17:30 Pricing: 300¥pp (2p) – 240¥pp (3-7p) Inclusions: Li-river raft – English speaking guide – Market Tour – Drinking Water Exclusions: Bike Rental (at your hotel or center) – Local Traditional Lunch – Extra beverages or snacks

Hi Tracey, Just spoke to the driver again, had a bit of a mix up I’m afraid, he originally quoted the price for a centrally based hotel, something downtown. When I told him again that you were at the Yangshuo Mountain Retreat he told me the correct price which is 40Y more expensive, sorry about that, It is still booked for you, just wanted to make sure you don’t get an unwanted surprise tomorrow.

  8. annie says:

I went to the seven tea plantation Yangshuo in october 2013 and I realy like the place. I come from canada and I try to get in touch with somebody to be able to buy some tea. The guide we got was Tanny. I try to sent her a e-mail with no succes.
Can someone help me to find her or somebody to talk too please.
    Thank you very much!

    • Yangshuo Insider says:

      Hi Annie,
Thank you for posting your comment, your question will be informative for other travelers wishing to buy some great local tea! We have contacted the tea plantation here in Yangshuo but unfortunately they do not have English speaking staff at the moment and hire guides from outside for their tea tours who are lead by local staff. So Tanny is not there for the moment and they could not help us to get in touch with her but we can mediate to get you their tea sent to Canada if you like. The green tea they grow is 90yuan/100g, the black tea is priced at 130yuan/100g. All the tea will have been harvested this year, 2014. If you would like us to get you some tea just let us know the type and quantity, and your address of course in an email at info@yangshuo-insider.com upon we will offer a quote.
      Hope this helps,

  9. Yangshuo insider says:

    Hi Erin,

The starway hotel… I would not have thought there would be a hotel in Yangshuo we have not yet heard about. Sure we can help you to book a tea plantation tour, a driver can come to pick you up at your hotel when it suits you best and take you to the tea plantation for a tour (1hr) and/or lunch. The drive to the tea plantation would take about half an hour, just tell us your preferred time to be picked up at your hotel and we will arrange a knowledgeable guide for you to take you around. After the tour and lunch, the driver will take you back to Yangshuo. Price for the private transfers and tea tour would be 140Y per person (2p). You can decide upon lunch when you are there.
Alternatively, you could also get there yourselves per scooter and after passing by the tea plantation continue the road amid some of the most amazing scenery of the area. You will meet several view points overlooking the river and mountain scenery and pass by the ancient Stone Village on the way to Putao. The road is quite hilly and winding, if you are not seasoned cyclists a scooter is recommended. You could easily do this tour on your own, does not really require a guide.
Hope the above suits you well and feel free to let us know if we can help you further.
