how to get to yangshuo china

Yangshuo is located in the South of China in the province of Guangxi about 700km West from Hong Kong and 600km North of the Vietnamese border. Yangshuo‘s accessibility improves every year and aside from the budget options per long-distance bus, the expansive railway network offers more comfortable and faster travel routes to get to Yangshuo as well.

The nearest airport is Guilin Liangjiang International Airport (airport code KWL), located about good half an hour drive from the centre of Guilin and a good hour from Yangshuo. Despite being a rather small international airport, it offers connections to nearly all major Chinese cities and neighbouring countries like Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia . There are now several train stations in the Guilin area with 2 train stations in Guilin, 1 in Xingping (called the Yangshuo station) and 1 in Gongcheng. For an overview of the stations and to what cities they connect the area read our Yangshuo by train page.

Public transport in China is pretty good though if you travel at the time of any of the major festivals you should be willing to share with the rest of China as it seems as though the whole population is traveling with you at the same time.

Good to know: You may notice that prices listed throughout our guide will likely be higher than listed on other guides since we keep our guide constantly updated and naturally prices only tend to go up. While they are mostly accurate, do verify with us since certain transfer prices and time schedules frequently change without prior notice. For us it is just a local phone call away so don’t hesitate to let us know your plans and we will get back to you in a timely manner. We can also help you to book the majority of tickets as well.
